Garbage Return To TV, Do ‘Jimmy Fallon’

Alternative rock band Garbage made their first U.S televised apperance in support of their new album “Not Your Kind of People” (the first since the band’s six-year hiatus) last night (May 18th) on NBC’s ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’…Watch performances below!

Looking flawless in a flowery jumpsuit with matching high-heels and rocking high bun do, lead vocalist Shirley Manson performed two songs on Friday evening; the hit song “Blood for Poppies” (she was on fire! and nailed all the fast lyrics LIVE) and “Automatic Systematic Habit”, both cuts from Garbage’s recently-released fifth LP. Shirley and Co. rocked that stage hard. Loved it! According to first-day sales reports, “Not Your Kind of People” is expected to debut in the US at #13 with 18-21k copies sold. Not that bad if you consider the zero promo (til now). Garbage will embark on a four-month tour -which kicks-off next week- that will take them across the US, Europe, and Japan.

K-Pop’s hottest new girl band: She’z

Even with the rigid training schedules of the Korean music industry, it’s still hard to find a group –especially a girl group– that can tick all the boxes. There aren’t many groups who can sing (and I mean really sing), dance, and perform exceptionally well, while also being supremely hot and signed to a record label who have the cash to splash on great music and concepts.

Newcomers She’z somehow manage to do all of those things, and the best part is that there doesn’t even seem to be a token talentless member amongst them. That’s right: ain’t no Dara’s or Qri’s in She’z!

The only negative I’ve come up with on She’z so far is their name, which not only sounds ridiculous and is awkward to write, but also rhymes with cheese. It’s the worst name since C-REAL!

Chee’z debuted this week with their first single “My Way”, and I am so loving absolutely everything about it. It’s a super fun girl power anthem with a positive message about female independence — every time I hear it I can’t help but bounce around the place like an empowered diva!

“If there’s something to fix, that’s not me,” the awesome foursome of She’z boldly proclaim. “I’m not the same as everyone else / If I want you, I’ll look at you / Then you need to come talk to me first / I’ll be the one to start and I’ll be the one to end things.”

The vocals are really strong and take center stage in the song, and the electronic pop-rock production is really catchy and radio-friendly, but without being at all derivative. It wouldn’t sound out of place as a hit record in the Western music market for a younger-geared girl group, like a female One Direction.

The official music video is a stock standard K-Pop visual, but She’z rock the formula with a lot of style and sass. They all look fabulous and you get to know each member individually, and their image is the perfect balance between sexy and sweet, youth and maturity.

I’m in love.

She’z had their debut performance on last night’s M! Countdown, and they nailed it better than even I expected.

Not only were they totally confident and charismatic, but they sung 90% of the song live with all the choreography in tact. As in, really live. You could hear their voices whether the backing track was on or not, and everything was sung in key.

And wow, they are so pretty.

SPICA just got their official rival!

Nelly Furtado Visits ‘Alan Carr: Chatty Man’

The one and only Nelly Furtado stopped by funnyman Alan Carr’s Channel 4 show on Friday (May 18th) to promote her upcoming album “The Spirit Indestructible” (now delayed to September 2012) in an interview and perform for the first time on television the first single, the Darkchild-produced “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)”…Watch below! By the way, first of all, I’m really shocked at the ‘push-back’ announce of the album especially since it was only last month when a so-excited Nelly announced to fans via Twitter the release date (June 19)…what happened? We can’t say ‘Big Hoops‘ have flopped cause the video just premiered and Nelly hasn’t done any promo yet. ‘Big Hoops’ will have its big break on Sunday with Nelly’s Billboard Awards performance. That’s gonna be a life or death situation for the song. But delaying the album till September with no clear motives?. I’d only be OK with it if this makes Nelly record even hotter songs, and extend the tracklisting even more, haha. *the bigger the better, the bigger the better!*

Back to the ‘Chatty Man’ appearance, Nelly performed ‘Big Hoops’ and she did good! She was clearly nervous at the beginning, hence the shaky vocals, nevertheless as the performance progressed it all improved and eventually Nelly slayed me. She sang all LIVE, and those are big points in my book. The addition of the Native American hoop dancers was kind of picturesque! I liked.

FYI: Looking for a link to Nelly’s interview on the show…

7-year-old snatches Willow Smith’s wig, becomes new Queen of Pop

Willow Smith. Elle Fanning. Noah Cyrus. Jackie Evancho. Chris Brown. Whoever your favorite child star is, their career has just been obliterated by the new Queen of Pop, 7-year-old Mana Ashida.

The adorable little slice of sunshine is the biggest thing in Japan since Tamagotchi. While you sit at home on your fat ass, Ashida is ruling the Land of the Rising Sun as a TV star, movie star, voice actress, and variety show host — and she has a tonne of prestigious acting awards to prove it!

Can your faves?

After replacing Meryl Streep as the most lauded actress of all time, Ashida branched out into music last year, and quickly became the youngest artist in Japanese history to reach the top 10 of both the album and singles charts.

This lil’ legend is now back and ready to break more records with her second official single “Zutto Zutto Tomodachi”, and just like Ashida herself, it’s the cutest thing ever.

It’s official: I refuse to ever have a kid unless it’s as cute as Ashida. Anything less is getting dumped at the orphanage in an unmarked basket!

“Zutto Zutto Tomodachi” hit stores this week, so the well-trained Ashida has been out performing it on every TV show imaginable.  You can check out one of her performances, backed by AKB48, below.

Rihanna, Nicki, and Britney could learn a few things from this plucky 7-year-old!

[Music Video] Teairra Mari Feat. 2 Chainz – “U Did That”

I’m officially back on team Tea-Tea y’all!

If you’re like me and totally forgot all about Teairra Mari and her 6-month old single “U Did That”, then you’ll never forget again after seeing the song’s x-rated music video.

Teairra’s sexed-up her image in recent years, but she’s never gone this far before. With a deliciously messy wig collection and a new pair of titties in tow, Tea-Tea gets her Jenna Jameson on by playing Penthouse Pet in front of the camcorder and delivering one of the most outrageously raunchy dance routines to hit a music video in a long time.

When you’re getting this freaky you have to fucking own it, and Tea-Tea sure as hell did that.

Seriously, that DANCE BREAK! Mah GAWD! My laptop almost melted during the hump ‘n’ bend!

And the song is just everything. I liked it when it first dropped, but the addition of rising rapper 2 Chainz and the release of the music video take it to the next level. It’s like “Automatic” and “Motivation” in one. And those vocals… Free of all flaws.

Consider me officially slayed, cremated, and reincarnated.

Usher Performs On ‘The Today Show’ (2012)

R&B star Usher helped kick off the ‘Today’ show 2012 summer concert series with an outdoors performance at a packed Rockefeller Plaza in NYC on Friday morning (May 18th) – In just four weeks, the American entertainer will be releasing his much-anticipated seventh album “Looking 4 Myself”. On ‘Today’, Usher treated fans with a three-song set that featured: the R&B hit ‘Climax‘, Usher’s 2010 chart-topping single ‘OMG‘, and his David Guetta collaboration ‘Without You‘. That was fire! Killled it!!

Usher’s last TV apperance was last week on ‘Saturday Night Live‘, and although I praised his show, I kinda missed full-action Usher, the one who sings crazy hot and dances like there’s no tomorrow all at the same time, but on SNL he just focused on the vocals (even though he performed ‘Scream‘ there). So, it’s good see Usher displaying all of his talents on ‘Today’. Check it out! (Video credit: NeonLimelight)

Back to “Never Close Our Eyes”, the song is lifted from Adam’s sophomore LP “Trespassing”, released in America this week, which according first-day sales reports is en route to top the Billboard Top 200 chart with 70-75k copies sold.
